Q. I am either (a) trying to convert a document and am getting a "no text" warning, (b) trying to convert a scanned document without success, or (c) converting a document but it's only producing bitmap graphics instead of editable text. What's wrong? A. PDF files can be created in several ways, such as:
- With Microsoft Office or other PC applications.
- By scanning pages and saving as PDF.
If your file conversion results in only bitmap images of the pages and no text, your PDF file was probably created from a scanned document. Please read our Scanned Documents Help Page for more details. Sometimes scanned files can contain both text and the bitmap images of the pages. If this is the case you will see both in the Word document - the image of the page, and the text behind it. You can delete the bitmap of the page if it is not needed.
