What is DWG?
DWG is the native AutoCAD® file format. The DWG file format has become the de facto standard file format for CAD data. In 1997 AutoDesk® claimed there were as many as 2 billion DWG files in existence.
The OpenDWG Alliance is an association of users and vendors who are committed to the promotion of Autodesk's DWG drawing file format as an open industry standard for the exchange of computer aided design (CAD) drawings.
Solid Converter DWG uses the DWGdirect libraries from OpenDWG for conversion between the different formats of DWG releases (R12, R13, and R14, R2000 and R2004).
Solid Converter DWG also allows you to simplify complex objects for importing into applications that do not support these object types.
