Tips & Tricks

How Do I Convert a PSD File?

You can convert PSD files into common formats – BMP, GIF, JPG, PSD, or TIF – using Solid Converter GX. Depending on the output format you select, you can then upload your new images to the Web as well as open the files in many different software programs.

Note: Although you cannot change different formats to PSD, you can change PSD to other formats. Thus, you will not see PSD as a selection on the Image Format and Output Path screen in the wizard.

Step 1
Select One or More PSDs to Open
Click the PSD file of choice, then click the Convert button or select Convert Using Wizard from the drop-down arrow.

(Note: If you have more than one image to convert, use CTRL Click to select all your images before clicking Convert.)

Step 2
Complete the Conversion
Follow the wizard to complete the conversion. For more information about options, see the Which File Format Should I Choose? and Changing Color Depth and Transparency tips.
